Thought Of The Day

You know when you go to the movie theater and they have the "free-refill" bucket of popcorn? Back home, in a theater I used to frequent, they called this option the "bottomless tub" of popcorn. I never understood that. If the tub doesn't have a bottom, wouldn't all the popcorn just spill all over the fucking floor?! In which case, why the hell should I bother refilling it? It's only going to spill again. And besides, wouldn't that just make more work for the people who have to clean the floors? Maybe that's why they charge more for that option in the first place...

  1. ya know...this always bothered me...for example...i went to the movies today and watched "glory road"...good movie btw...and i went to the consenssions to get my usual...medium popcorn and large drink...and every time i do that...they ask..."are you sure you don't want to get a large???...it comes with a FREE RE-FILL"...

now i always ask myself...if i'm eating popcorn in a movie...and HALF way thru the movie...i run out of popcorn...am i going to rush back to the stand and actually GET my free refill???...well i haven't yet...cos you know why????...i PAID $8 to see the movie and i'm going to SEE IT...not get up in the middle of it, to stand in line *again* and get more popcorn...

now i can see this concept work if i was going to see more than one movie...but yeah...i rarely see more than one movie at a time...and WHEN i do, i just walk into another theater...yeah that's bad cos i didn't pay to see that other movie...but we're not talking about that...

anyway...back to the popcorn...there are people who actually do the "free re-fill" after the movie and take the popcorn home...that's fine and dandy...if you like that...but yeah...eating stale movie popcorn...isn't the most tasty thing to do...

anyway...that's my two cents and short rant about the matter...

    and yeah...
